DCspectator.com is an ongoing work in progress --basically perma-beta -- published by Washington, D.C.-based writer and communications consultant, Gordon Hensley.
ABOUT
Content for DCspectator is eclectic, and consists of original reporting, opinion, concert and book reviews, interviews with various professionals in their respective fields, and other ad hoc entries.
DCspectator attempts to be objective in its reporting for news-article style entries, while the commentary and observations on political or other matters generally reflect a GOP/libertarian view of the world -- but not always, and not by default.
GORDON HENSLEY BIO SYNOPSIS
Most recently, Hensley served as a senior communications strategist and writer for Tennessee GOP Senator Bob Corker during his 2006 campaign against U.S. Rep. Harold Ford, Jr.
Between 1980 and 2000, Hensley served as a GOP communications director and speechwriter on a variety of presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial and U.S. House campaigns -- including stints as communications director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) during U.S. Senator Al D'Amato's tenure as Chairman, communications director to Governor Buddy Roemer (R-LA), and press secretary to U.S. Reps. Joe DioGuardi (R-NY), Jim Courter (R-NJ) and Sam Johnson (R-TX).
In 2000, Hensley tired of the national campaign scene, and has worked as a senior consultant and writer for health care entities, public relations firms and a handful of former GOP and Dem public officials -- for whom he writes speeches, congressional testimony and opeds.
Hensley grew up in Chappaqua NY, moved to Washington, DC in 1980, scored a $40 per week job in New Hampshire on Ronald Reagan's presidential effort, and became hooked on campaigns. He's been in DC ever since.
He spends his free time writing, running, watching football and boxing, collecting guitars and wine -- and hanging out at his ramshackle farmhouse in the Virginia Blue Ridge.
